Teeth Whitening
Most people consider
white teeth to be an attractive feature of a smile. As a person ages, teeth
often become dark. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs, coffee and tobacco.
The procedure to whiten teeth requires a simple impression appointment. A special plastic tray is fabricated specifically to fit comfortably and can be used in the privacy of your home. These trays can be kept and used to touch-up your whitening over the years.
Porcelain & Gold Crowns
A crown is used to cap or completely cover a tooth.
Traditionally, the teeth to be crowned are prepared by a dentist and records are given to a dental technician to fabricate the crown or bridge, which can then be cemented into place at another dental appointment. The main advantages of the indirect method of tooth restoration include:
- Fabrication of the restoration without the need for having the patient wait in the chair.
- The restorative materials used in indirect restorations possess superior mechanical properties than the materials used for direct methods of tooth restoration and, thereby, produce a restoration of much higher quality.
Cosmetic Bonding
Composite tooth bonding is a cosmetic dentistry technique that can work wonders for your smile. Using materials that match the shade,
translucency and texture of your teeth, tooth gaps can be closed, spots, chips, and discolorations can be eliminated, and your
self-confidence can be enhanced through the improved appearance of your smile. It's also great for an instant repair of a broken front
tooth.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a false tooth, known as a pontic, which is fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing
tooth. The two crowns holding it in place are attached onto the teeth on each side of the false tooth. This is known as a fixed
bridge. This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridges cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do
with removable partial dentures. Bridges can reduce your risk of gum disease, help correct some bite issues and
even improve your speech.
Implant Crowns
Like the natural root, a dental implant provides the foundation for a dental crown. A ceramic dental crown on a dental implant looks and
functions very much like the missing tooth did.
Composite (Tooth-Colored) Fillings
Tooth-colored fillings are made from durable plastics called composite resins. Similar in color and texture to natural teeth, the
fillings are less noticeable, much more attractive than other types of fillings, and do not contain mercury.
Gum Treatment/Cleanings
By using special instruments, we remove bacteria and infection from the unhealthy deep
pockets around the teeth below the gum line. This is often referred to as a "deep cleaning." First, the tooth is scaled to remove the plaque
and tarter that has accumulated on the tooth; then the root is planed or smoothed. This eliminates any rough areas on the root that can easily trap plaque and bacteria.
A smooth clean root provides a healthy environment to allow the gums to heal naturally. This will create a
reduced pocket, therefore eliminating areas for bacteria to hide and cause further disease. Scaling and root planing combined with a strict home care routine and more frequent periodontal cleanings and exams will increase your chances of keeping your natural smile.
Nitrous Sedation (Laughing Gas) at no additional charge
Nitrous Oxide Sedation enables patients to better tolerate lengthy dental procedures and makes for a more positive experience.
The Benefits of Nitrous Oxide Sedation
- Increase patient comfort and enjoyment
- Safe and effective
- Short recovery time
Enamel Microabrasion (Stain and Tooth Discoloration Removal)
In microabrasion, the dentist polishes the teeth with a compound to remove superficial, chalky white or orange/brown discolorations.
